Community Megibung tradition Karangasem


Bali is a small island that has the attraction that is very dear to pass. Bali is famous for its various traditions. One tradition that is found in East Bali (Karangasem) is Megibung.
 
Megibung derived from the word "Gibung" which got the prefix "Me-". Where the word "Gibung" which means the activities carried out by many people, which is shared between people with each other. While the prefix "Me-" which means doing an activity. So Megibung is a process or activity that is carried out by people or some people to sit down together to share with each other, especially in terms of food.

This megibung tradition introduced by King of Karangasem, I Gusti Agung is Anglurah Ketut Karangasem Çaka around 1614 or 1692 BC. As at that time, Karangasem an expedition to conquer the Kings are in the land of Lombok. Community Makepung tradition Jembrana


Bali is always crowded because of its natural beauty is stunning, in addition to natural beauty is priceless, Bali also has a wide variety of traditions. One tradition that is found in the island of Bali which is located in Jembrana is Makepung tradition.

Makepung is a competition that uses the buffalo as a towing vehicle called cikar or a buffalo racing tradition of a race. The buffalo headdress decorated with a very attractive golden color. The purpose of Nyepi celebrations in Bali

Traditional Matekap in Bali
